The Technical Research and Training Centre of the Furniture and Wood of the Región de Murcia (CETEM) is a private non-profit association based in the municipality of Yecla, where one of the most important furniture clusters in Spain is concentrated.

Its 25 years of existence and achievements in terms of innovation and technological development for companies in the sector, make CETEM the main business reference in this important sector and economic engine of the Region of Murcia.

CETEM’s main objective is to carry out and promote research and development activities, as well as services and projects in the technological and innovative field with the aim of improving, favouring and encouraging the development and continuous improvement of companies in the wood, furniture and related sectors.

Its creation in 1994 was promoted by the Development Institute of the Región of Murcia (INFO), the Regional Association of Wood Entrepreneurs (AREMA), the City Council of Yecla, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, and the European Community.

CETEM is registered in the register of Innovation and Technology Centres (CIT) with the number 83 and has an Office for the Transfer of Research Results (OTRI) with the number 165.
